• Objectives
  The course aims to foster in students an understanding of interaction between theology, philosophy and religion, and equip them with tools to engage in theological and philosphical relfetion through the study of literature. It also provides training and experience in research methods in Theology and Religious Studies.
• Entry requirements
  It is an ideal degree if you wish to pursue a one-year MA as preparation for a research degree (either MPhil or PhD), as suggested by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).

  Duration: One year full-time or 2-4 yrs part-time
  
  Course Content
  Students are required to complete four 30-credit modules and submit a 60-credit dissertation.  Full-time students will normally take two taught modules in each semester.
  
  All students are required to take the module 'Research Methods and Resources' and either 'Dante, Religion and Culture' or 'Aesthetics, Religion and Philosophy: from Idealism to Romanticism'.  Students will take a further two modules from the area of Theology, Philosophy and Literature.  With the permission of the Course Co-ordinator, you may even take 30 credits’ worth of undergraduate modules instead of this additional MA module.

  Course Structure
  This course can be taken on a full-time basis over 1 year (September to September) or part-time over 2 to 4 years.
  
  You will be required to take 120 credits of taught modules, as well as undertaking a 60-credit Dissertation on the subject of your choice.
  
  Modules are typically assessed through a written piece of coursework.
