Designed from our successful Design and Digital Media MA, this course will provide you with the opportunity to explore and develop the creative possibilities of art in new media contexts. Course content includes visual language, animation, a research module and an additional major project module required for completion of the MA degree.
The course from which the Media Arts MA derives has an excellent record of preparing students for employment. Graduates are currently working in such areas as new media, digital video, digital imaging, animation and experimental research. Students enrolled for the Media Arts MA will have the option of changing to the Design and Digital Media MA at the Postgraduate Certificate stage of the course.
The course may be taken either full-time over 12 months or part-time over 24 months. In its part-time mode with one day spent at the University each week the course is particularly suited to working artists, teachers and other professionals who wish to develop their knowledge of media arts and emergent creative technologies. It will also help you extend your skills in fields that utilise experimental art and visual languages for hybrid forms of publishing/exhibiting/delivery.
