  • Course description
This part-time/flexible learning MEng (Hons) Engineering course is designed for practising engineers who are already qualified to HND, FdEng, FdSc or degree level who want to gain the academic qualifications necessary to achieve Chartered Engineer (CEng) status. Applicants for this programme must be employed in a relevant role in the Engineering industry.
The MEng level takes four years to complete on a part-time basis, although you can opt to graduate after two years with a BEng (Hons) Engineering award.
At BEng level you will have covered advanced stress and vibration, business development, manufacturing operations, mechatronics and computational engineering. At the MEng level your knowledge is deepened and broadened through subjects such as project management, design management, life cycle analysis, control system design and materials failure and prevention.
This is an incredibly flexible way to study, with a number of core units complemented by optional units, allowing you to tailor your course to suit the needs of your employer and your long-term career plans.
Subjects are taught by flexible learning, and you will be supported throughout your study with discussion forums. Academic tutorial attendance is required typically three times for each unit of study. Subjects are assessed through a combination of coursework and examinations which will be submitted electronically.
