Objectives
In this four-year MEng course you will study devices which combine mechanical and electronic components such as camcorders, robots, sound and vibration control systems and DVD drives. Mechatronics engineers are in great demand from a wide range of industries, especially those concerned with the design and manufacture of the above products and many more. The course is available as a three-year BEng or four-year MEng degree. We use a wide variety of teaching and assessment methods to deliver a broad learning experience and equip you with transferable skills. There are also opportunities to study another language, and take part in group and individual projects.
Entry requirements
Entry requirements GCE/VCE A Levels - BBB* BTEC National Diploma - 3 Distinctions and 1 Merit* Two GCE A Levels plus two GCE AS Levels - BB+BB Scottish Highers - AABB* Irish Leaving Cert. - ABBBB* International Baccalaureate - 32 points* Core Requirements - GCE A Level including Maths and Science or Technology. Applicants offering the above plus two VCE A Levels or a Double Award VCE A Level in Science or Engineering will be considered. Our students usually select from a range of compulsory and optional modules to add up to 120 credits.
Some departments offer courses that don't feature optional modules whereas other courses are fully flexible.
