    You'll be involved with generating images and visual simulations based on the underlying mathematical foundations and algorithms, and you'll gain experience of 3D computer animation. A key feature is visual simulation, involving state-of-the-art algorithms and techniques, including visually-complex phenomena such as fire and water

    The normal entry requirement is an honours degree, first or second class, in a discipline such as computing, mathematics, engineering or science, and some computer programming experience. Equivalent qualifications may also be considered - for example, applicants who have appropriate professional experience.

    This course highlights both the technical and mathematical aspects of computer graphics (CG). If you're a non-CG graduate you'll be able to develop an appropriate specialism and tackle a range of projects, including aspects of computer games and animation.

    Course structure
    In addition to studying graphical mathematics, graphics programming and 3-D animation, you will develop your understanding and experience of research and collaborative working. The final stage will be devoted to your individual project.

    Opportunities are available in computer graphics and computer animation for film and television as well as areas such as medical or scientific simulation.
