    The MSc in Engineering in the Coastal Environment will equip you to deal with complex issues systematically and creatively and make sound judgements within the field of Coastal Engineering and Environmental Management. This Masters course offers: -Multi-disciplinary focus -Focus on quantitative analysis -Strong links with industry -Practical projects -Specialist speakers and visits -Dedicated GIS course -Suitable for students with or without an engineering background There is a growing need for coastal engineers in industry, government and research with a broad understanding of environmental issues in the coastal zone. Their work includes solving the varied environmental, engineering and oceanographic problems related to the rapidly growing populations and economies of coastal zones, as well as tackling threats like sea-level rise and climate change. The MSc in Engineering in the Coastal Environment is designed for industry’s needs and is built around relevant parts of engineering, oceanography and GIS applications with emphasis on application to existing coastal problems. It is strongly linked to industry and Local Authorities responsible for coastal engineering and management. This course is jointly taught between the School of Civil Engineering and the Environment and the School of Ocean and Earth Sciences. The MSc is also an important component in the new Centre for Coastal Processes, Engineering and Management.
