    Using excellent IT, laboratory and field facilities, the course combines methodological issues and problem-solving, with essential practical work It focuses on the application of technological solutions to environmental problems – you explore the environmental impacts of pollution on water, air and land, with an emphasis on fieldwork and laboratory analysis The programme introduces you to the appropriate methods of sampling, analysis and data handling needed to monitor processes and minimise environmental impacts You develop your own study programme, which means you have your own choice of modules and study direction You are required to produce a dissertation and research project which will be personally supervised by a University tutor You have the opportunity to undertake a work placement as part of your degree, which could help clarify your career objectives and provide useful industrial contacts

    Normally, you should have at least a 2:2 Honours degree or equivalent - we look for graduates in Environmental Science, Geology, Earth Science, Geography, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or Civil Engineering, although those with equivalent professional experience are also welcome to apply You should have a good standard of written and spoken English (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent) If you are currently employed we request a statement of support from your employer
