Objectives
The MSc in Industrial Engineering and Operations Management provides a strong foundation in operations management, while focusing in particular on the technical and human aspects of management of manufacturing and distribution enterprises and associated activities. Competitiveness in many industries is increasingly reliant on manufacturing excellence. This course (together with the related Operations Management and Manufacturing Systems and Operations Management courses) prepares managers who will be able to help their companies build a competitive edge based on high levels of technical and managerial competence. The individual dissertation project provides an opportunity for you to study a chosen area in much greater depth.
Course Structure
The MSc in Industrial Engineering and Operations Management is taught on a full-time basis over one year
During this time, you must accumulate 180 credits to qualify for the award of MSc
You will take 120-credits’ worth of taught modules, which are examined during two 15-week semesters
Each taught module typically consists of ten 2 or 3 hour sessions. Assessment is by a combination of individual essay or group project and written examination.
The remaining 60 credits of this course are allocated to a dissertation, which is completed over the summer period for submission in September.
