• Objectives
  The MSc in Information Technology aims to equip you to work professionally within an information systems environment. In particular, the course aims to develop reflective academic skills and provide technical knowledge and skills associated with the development and management of Information Technology and related software and equipment.
• Entry requirements
  This course is intended for those with non-computing qualifications who now wish to enter the field of computing. No prior experience of computer programming or systems analysis is assumed; however, familiarity with a range of computer software (word processing, spreadsheets etc) and the use of the Internet is presumed. This is a blended learning course. Although the majority of the material will be taught online, there will be a requirement to attend the University for introductory sessions and some assessments.

• Course description
  This course is designed for non-computing graduates who wish to expand their computing knowledge. Many of the units available are designed so that the material studied and assessments undertaken can reflect your work and the type of IT projects you are likely to encounter.
  
  As it is predominantly an online course, you should be familiar with the use of a PC. However, as it is blended learning, you will also have the opportunity to meet other students and staff in real life.

  You will be taught and encouraged to learn using an online learning environment. In practice, this will provide a virtual classroom for all your learning materials. You will also be able to use the chat rooms provided for online discussions with your fellow students and your University tutors. In addition, there will be email and discussion forums where you can post questions or materials you have found and look at and comment on what others have done. You will have access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and any query you post will normally be answered with 24 hours - so you will not feel lonely. There will also be one to two days each semester when you will be expected to attend the University.
