  • Course description
    Programme

    Industrial data modelling
is the application of statistical, mathematical and computing techniques to industrial problems. This programme considers the modelling, analysis and interpretation of data in industries associated with science, engineering and biomedicine. Developed in partnership with industry, the multi-disciplinary and practical approach ensures that the techniques considered are at the forefront of those required by industry. Modules include:

-Fundamentals of Mathematics and Statistics: The mathematical and statistical topics which underpin the programme
-Model Fitting and Calibration: This module examines the concept of selecting and fitting models to data
-Design and Analysis of Experiments: Designing experiments involving several factors and interactions, and analysing the subsequent data
-Multivariate Analysis ? Principal Components and Calibration: Investigates basic multivariate data analysis and calibration methods
-Classification, Partial Least Squares and Calibration: Classification techniques and multivariate prediction and calibration methods
-Research Issues and Methodology: This module details research-based echniques for the presentation and analysis of data
-Quality and Process Control: Considers quality assurance, quality control and process control methods
-Individual Project: The project requires an in-depth, industry-based project of interest to both the student and his/her company.
