    Entry Requirements A good honours degree or its equivalent (eg a 2:1, or 3.5 GPA) in Theology/Religion or History or exceptionally, in another subject when there is evidence that the student can move successfully to postgraduate-level study in theology and history or exceptionally to candidates whose prior study and professional experience provides evidence of ability for postgraduate study in history and theology.

    Through the study of core courses, you will study the most authoritative constructions of Christian thought from the beginnings to the present day, and explore debates and challenges that have shaped belief and practice. Options pursue themes within this broad framework. This programme draws on the strength of the School of Divinity in Systematic Theology and Ecclesiastical History and provides an excellent opportunity to work on themes in the history of Christian thought.

    Learning Outcomes

    You will be able to:

        * analyse original texts and modern scholarship relating to key moments in the definition of Christian thought;
        * argue a case persuasively and in depth;
        * carry out graduate-level research for essays and the dissertation.

    How You Will Be Taught

    You will be taught in small seminar classes led by experts, with extensive student participation. You will be given training in research methods and will receive individual supervision for your 15,000-word dissertation.
