Course description
Introduction
The programme is designed as an accelerated route over two academic years to gain membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). You will have opportunities to learn alongside other allied health professionals.
Teaching and Assessment
Modules are assessed by a variety of methods throughout the two years. Students must achieve the full credit in each year in order to progress and to qualify for the award. Students must successfully complete all the programme requirements.
The CSP requires that you successfully complete a minimum of 1,000 hours practice experience. Placements are undertaken in each year in a range of health and community settings. You must be prepared to travel daily to placements and at times live away from base during the week. Students are responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs, but may be able to claim reimbursement from the Student Grant Unit. Clinical experience is also gained in a physiotherapy treatment clinic based at the University.
Funding
Students who meet the Department of Health residency criteria are eligible for a means-tested bursary. The NHS normally pays tuition fees.
