  This programme introduces you to spatial information science disciplines, including: geographical information system methodologies and applications, remote sensing image processing techniques and applications, and environmental modelling philosophy and practice.

  Entry requirements Degree in geography, or with geography or other related subject. Other qualifications may be taken into consideration.

• Course description
  Graduate Certificate: complete three modules, worth a total of 60 credits:
  
  -Principles of Geographic Information Systems (30 credits)
  -Environmental Modelling (15 credits)
  -Remote Sensing and Image Processing (15 credits).
  
  Graduate Diploma: complete these three modules, plus an independent geographical study (worth 60 credits), to a total of 120 credits.
  
  Some modules are only available in alternate years.
  
  Teaching
  Teaching on this programme has a strong computer-based component. Graduate Diploma students must complete an independent geographical study as an introduction to personal research within this discipline.
  
  Assessment
  A combination of unseen examinations and coursework, as well as a dissertation.
