BA Communications & Visual Culture

  • Objectives Visual culture is central to the media and cultural industries. This course will develop your creative, critical and practical skills for employment within these industries. You will develop insight into modern communications and visual design with a range of practical media options. You will be introduced to the structure and workings of the modern media and cultural industries with a final year work placement to develop your familiarity with these industries. There are many media industry professionals on our staff and you benefit from regular industry guest speakers. The course has special opportunities for practical engagement with communications and media through events such as the annual Big City Film Festival.
  • Entry requirements We usually look for at least 160 points at A2 level, or 160200 points from A2 and AS level combined. In addition, five GCSE subjects are required, including grade C in English. We welcome applications from those on recognised Access/Foundation courses, overseas and mature students with a range of qualifications and/or experience, as well as part-time students.
