BA (Hons) Prehistoric and Roman Archaeology

  • Course description

    This course focuses on preparing you for a career in archaeology, concentrating on professional training and providing you with a detailed and critical understanding of current themes in prehistoric and Roman archaeology.

     

    Concentrating upon the archaeological remains and material culture of Western Europe from the Neolithic through to the 5th Century AD, this course is underpinned by a strong focus on practical field archaeological skills. Key components of the course encompass artefact analysis, the study of human and animal remains, religious and ritual practice, military studies, urban development, trade and exchange, industrial processes, cultural change and globalisation.
