BA Management with Asian Studies

  • Objectives These degrees are based on the same set of core modules as BA Management Studies, with the core accounting modules removed and four Asian/Chinese studies modules added per year of study. Students have the option to study Mandarin or other Asian languages. No prior language experience is required, and language study is not compulsory after year one. The wide range of modules on offer, and the opportunity to study a language, will prepare graduates for a number of careers.
  • Entry requirements Required subjects: Pass in 4th AS level (excluding general studies). GCSE mathematics Grade B or above. IB score: 32 to include 17 points at Higher Level

    Programme

    Year one

    The first year includes core modules in entrepreneurship, organisational studies, business economics, economic policy, business computing, quantitative analysis, and Mandarin language, plus two modules in Asian/Chinese Studies.

    Year two

    Students of Management with Asian Studies spend their second year at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC), whilst the second year of Management with Chinese Studies is taken at The University of Nottingham, Ningbo China (UNNC). The second year includes core modules in management and organisation, marketing, business economics, and Asian/ Chinese Studies.

    Year three

    The final year includes core modules in strategic management, human resource management, and business ethics. There are also four modules in Asian/Chinese Studies, and three further optional modules.
