BEng Polymer Engineering

  • Objectives Modern products from mobile phones and personal computers to cars and aircraft all require polymers, plastics and rubbers. The demands placed on these products are growing and so demand for graduates able to design with polymers and apply modern processing techniques and computer methods to mould design is also growing. This course leads to careers in leading companies in the electronics and communications, automotive, pharmaceutical and aerospace industries, all of whom employ graduates with a good knowledge of plastics and rubber materials.
  • Entry requirements You should have GCSE English and Mathematics grade C or above (or equivalent), and one of the following: at least 120 points from two or more A-levels, such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Design and Technology, Science, Engineering or Manufacturing; or a pass in BTEC ND/C in Engineering, Science or relevant subject area with at least three merits in the final year, excluding common skills.
