  • Course description General information

    An Introductory Diploma is a work related qualification designed to offer you a choice of routes into employment or progression on to a higher level programme.

    Course content

    You will study a combination of vocational and personal skills based business units.

    Vocational core units:

        * Starting Work in Business, Retail and Administration
        * Working in Business, Retail and Administration
        * Introducing Customer Service.

    The two personal skills units are:  

        * Personal Effectiveness
        * Financial Management

    There are three option units:

        * Communicating Effectively at Work
        * Introduction to Retail
        * Ensuring Personal Health & Safety at Work.

    Teaching and assessment

    The course is assessed by a mixture of written tests and coursework.  Learners will acquire skills through a combination of practical tasks, theory, simulated activities and role-play.

    Progression

    On successful completion of the course students may progress to the BTEC First Diploma in Business, the BTEC First Diploma in Retail, a level 2 Business Administration programme or employment.
