CIPD Qualification Professional Assessment of Competence

  • Objectives PAC is a portfolio-based route towards CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) membership which recognises existing experience, skills and competencies. Delegates will have to compile a portfolio of personal reports supported by appropriate evidence which demonstrates how they meet the CIPD’s professional standards.
  • Entry requirements Entry requirementsThis route into membership is aimed at Middle and Senior managers who must have at least five years management experience in a strategic capacity, three of which should be within the HR/HRD area.
  • Course description Modules
    Students have to satisfy the requirements of the CIPD’s four fields of study:

    -Leadership and Management (consisting of four modules)
    -People Management and Development
    -Four electives (which can be chosen from amongst 19 possible electives)
    -The completion of a Management Research Report (MRR) and the compilation of a continuous professional development log (CPD)

    Application and selection
    You will be invited to attend a diagnostic interview at the University. At this interview, an assessor can judge the likely success of this route before any assessment costs are incurred.

    Assessment
    By review of portfolio evidence and reports and by interview.

    Course content
    You will complete a portfolio against the required fields and elective modules of the CIPD’s professional standards.

    Employability and careers: life after university
    Students upon completing the course have gone on to senior roles within HR.

    Graduate employability
    After successful completion of the course you will become Chartered Members of the CIPD. Some candidates go on to gain Chartered Fellowship of the CIPD.

    How do you study?
    You are supported by a personal adviser as well as the support you will receive in the induction workshop. In addition you will be provided with a nationally acclaimed HR textbook, and have access to the resources of a first-class library with online access.

    Inductions
    This is not a taught course however candidates will have an opportunity to attend an induction workshop and a Management Research Report workshop.
