  • Entry requirements Entry requirements Students should normally possess either a minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade C and above (including Maths and English) or a BTEC First Diploma with a minimum of 4 merit or distinction grades. Mature candidates (over 21 years of age) unable to meet these requirements, will be considered if they can demonstrate that they have gained experience in computing/IT.

  • Course description General information

    We offer a two year full-time course in Information Technology applications approved by the Business and Technology Council (BTEC). It is designed for students who have a flair for studies in computing and IT. Emphasis is placed on the practical elements of computing with a large degree of 'hands on' at equipment level. If you see your future as the 'technically able' person in the office environment or as a technician who configures PCs, sets up networks, or installs both software and hardware then this is the course for you.

    The course will provide students with a knowledge of: Database and Systems Analysis Excel VBA Operating Systems Programming C, Java, Visual Basic Assembler programming Computer hardware and architectures Computer communications Project Management Website Design and Management HTML, JavaScript, css.
