Course - C&G 7500 TV & Video

  • Entry requirements The course is suitable for anybody interested in Video Production, especially those with no previous experience. You do not need any previous qualifications, although we will expect you to demonstrate a keen interest and enthusiasm in the field and have good communication and computer skills. This course is suitable for over 19s.
  • Course description Duration of course:
    1 year - 2 full days a week.

    NB: Day-time programmes of study are available on a full-time basis, or part-time for those in receipt of DSS benefits and needing to satisfy the conditions of availability for work.

    What does it include?
    The general aim of the course is to increase students awareness of the video production process as a whole, including:
    -Pre-production (research, scripting, storyboarding etc.)
    -Production (studio camera work, location shooting, lighting and sound recording)
    -Post-Production (such as editing and graphics)

    As well as developing practical skills, critical and analytical skills are developed through the study of broadcast TV structure and output.

    Where does it lead?
    This course provides an excellent foundation for higher education media production courses, as well as providing skills necessary for the media industry.
    Past students have successfully gained places on HND/C and degree courses in media related subjects. The qualification may also lead to employment in the television and video industry.
