  • Course description The programme offers students a thorough knowledge and understanding of crime and the criminal justice process. The interdisciplinary programme is designed for graduates in law and social sciences. The programme will also be of interest to those working within the criminal justice system and other graduates interested in crime, criminality and the criminal justice process.

    Options also exist for students to defer the programme at intermediate stages with a Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma.

    The programme will appeal to professionals currently employed within the criminal justice system who aspire to have a more critical, theoretical and comparative understanding of policy, management and decision-making within criminal justice agencies; the criminal justice system (from police to judiciary); the impact of increased offender numbers on working principles; coping with change in the Probation Service, Police Service, Prison Service and Crown Prosecution Service. The programme will also be of interest to Magistrates and those involved in victim support.
