    Programme

    This challenging Foundation Degree is offered full-time or part-time by Castle College, Nottingham, and is currently the only programme of its kind in the East Midlands. It is designed to enhance employment opportunities for graduates with not only the police but also with many law enforcement agencies such as Customs and Excise, Local Government, Inland Revenue, Immigration Service, Benefit Fraud Service and the Probation Service.

    The emphasis throughout the programme is on the practical application and relevance of everyday policing (gained through activities as a Special Constable) to the knowledge and understanding gained. Year One modules will cover Policing, Criminal Law in a Policing Context, Criminal Justice Procedures and Policing in the Community. Year Two modules include Policing 2, Issues in Applied Criminology, Policing Practice (work-based as Special Constable) and Criminal Law in a Policing Contect 2.
