  • Entry requirements Entry requirements At least one GCE 'A' level pass in Chemistry or Biology, with a study of Biology and Chemistry to 'A' level plus supporting passes in GCE 'O' level or GCSE at Grade C or above, or CSE at Grade 1; A suitable BTEC National Certificate or Diploma in Science; GNVQ Advanced in Science; Equivalent qualifications at the discretion of BTEC, and subject to the recommendation of the programme director.

    A two year full time course leading to a Higher National Diploma awarded by University of Greenwich.  This programme is designed for students wishing to pursue a career in the biological sciences (e.g. ecology, food industry, water industry).

        * Practical Unit.

    Year 2:  

        * Physiological Systems and Regulation
        * Bioenergetics and Metabolism
        * Work Experience or Industrial Studies
        * Practical Unit
        * Project Cell Biology
        * Microbial Growth
        * Physiology and Environmental Microbiology
        * Practical Unit.

    Teaching and assessment

    Assessment is via assignments, practical work, phase tests and examination.
