MA Voluntary and Public Sectors: Policy and Practice
Objectives- Provides the opportunity for existing practitioners in the Voluntary and Public sectors, to further develop and improve practice - The course is particularly relevant to enhancing the career prospects of voluntary sector workers and managers, health care professionals, researchers, local government employees and further education professionals - Successful completion of the MA degree could also lead on to doctoral research
Entry requirements- You will be expected to have a good Honours degree, preferably with a social science element or equivalent professional qualifications and experience - Substantial professional experience can substitute for graduate status - Graduates from other disciplines may still be eligible for entry - You should also have a good standard of written and spoken English (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent)

- The MA Humanities/Social Sciences provides a general framework within which students can pursue specialist pathways of study in History, Film Studies, English, Conflict Studies, or in this case, Voluntary and Public Sectors: Policy and Practice
- By agreement with your course tutor, it is possible to study a combination of modules from other pathway routes
- Provides the opportunity for existing practitioners in the Voluntary and Public sectors, or those seeking a career in these sectors to understand welfare reform
- The course also gives you the chance to critically reflect on policy and practices encountered in your working life, and to exchange ideas with a view to developing and improving practice
- Helps prepare you for high level practice and understanding, focusing on knowledge, policy dynamics and the articulation of problems, as well as identifying practice-related solutions
