ObjectivesThe course provides an opportunity to study various applications that run on the internet, acquire relevant skills and develop an understanding of the issues surrounding the internet. The internet is a relatively recent development and it is only during the last decade that businesses, political organisations, lobby groups, media organisations, artists and educators have used the internet as a major tool for communication. The course attracts those who wish to develop internet applications in one of these areas or move into areas such as e-commerce, games, business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C). The course will benefit those who seek credibility in a field in which they already find themselves working, or those who seek employment in a fast-moving and developing industry, where there is scope for variety and potential to be creative and entrepreneurial.
Entry requirementsYou should have a good Honours degree in a computing-related subject and demonstrate an existing interest in internet applications. Applications from those with no first degree but who have previous appropriate experience may also be considered.

The course consists of a mixture of taught modules and project modules. The taught modules will cover areas such as:
The projects provide an opportunity to learn through experience in areas such as business, games, sharing information and education.
The final project module may be undertaken away from the University. This module may be taken in part-time mode over a negotiated period up to 12 months depending on your availability.
