  • Objectives If you are looking to become a Software Engineer, but have no previous computing qualifications then this postgraduate programme will provide you with a fast track to your chosen career. Software engineering professionals can be involved right through the software development lifecycle, from the origination of the initial idea or concept right through to the specification, design, implementation and maintenance of the final software product. After graduating from this programme you will posses the technical skills and competencies to produce a variety of software products across various domains, and be competent in all lifecycle phases. You will also be able to manage the software process, to implement quality procedures, and to ensure the production of well-engineered software products. From this programme you will develop a strong skill set within the areas of systems analysis and design, project management, software quality assurance engineering, software engineering, web development, requirements engineering and testing. This programme approaches software production from a rigorous engineering angle and will thoroughly prepare you for your career in Software Engineering.
  • Entry requirements Normally, the minimum qualification for entry to this course is a second class honours degree, typically in a scientific or numerate discipline but not one where computing has been the major subject studied. Graduates from other disciplines who feel that they have other skills to bring to the industry are encouraged to apply.
