This programme offers a unique and extremely flexible programme to students wishing to take an advanced course in modern economichistory. It equips you with a broad historical and applied perspective on the contemporary economic scene, and with the skills and expertise necessary to undertake further research in this field.
A wide range of geographical and thematic topics is available within the programme to enable you to opt for a broad or more focused course of study. For example, it would be possible to specialise in the international economy, business history or economic policy in Europe. The programme is recognised by the Economic & Social Research Council as providing appropriate research training for a subsequent PhD and scholarships are available for this programme.
