  • Objectives To provide training in advanced technology areas related to the engineering and manufacturing of photonic and optoelectronic components To educate students in the area of manufacturing and business.
  • Entry requirements Entry Requirements Usually a 2:1 honours degree or equivalent, in a relevant subject discipline, from an approved institution. Applicants whose first language is not English are required to take a suitable test: IELTS, minimum score 6.5; TOEFL, minimum score 575, plus a score of 4.5 in the TWE, or minimum of 232 in the computer-based TOEFL.

    -Microsystem Packaging.

    Manufacturing/business modules:

    -Change Management and Strategic Planning
    -Continuous Process Improvement
    -Substantial industry-relevant individual research project leading to the thesis

    Teaching
    -Research-led taught-course modules in EEE and IMR and Leeds University Business School
    -Individual research project
    -Supervision throughout the project and during preparation of dissertation.

    Assessment
    Examinations, coursework assessments, project dissertation with oral examination.
