  • Objectives This innovative programme provides a unique opportunity to pursue a Masters degree in human geography with a specialism in postcolonial geographies. The programme provides students with in-depth knowledge and critical appreciation of postcolonial debates across human geography, including development geography, cultural geography, urban geography, and environmental politics. It is taught by specialists with a range of research interests in the intersection of geography and postcolonialism that is exceptional in a UK Geography Department. Core modules offer grounding in theoretical debates and research methods in geography and postcolonial studies. Options allow students to choose between a number of specialised modules.

    -Teaching and assessment methods
    -Teaching methods include lectures, seminars, and individual research. Assessment is through essays and examinations. Students are encouraged to develop their transferable skills as part of their assessments, including IT, oral and written communication and self-directed learning. There is also a 10,000-15,000 word dissertation on an approved research topic
