    Course Description:

    Subsea pipelines are both key to field development and the transportation of oil and gas. It is also a key global industry. The Offshore and Ocean Technology with Pipeline Engineering MSc course focuses on the skills required to understand the materials, installation and maintenance issues associated with this important infrastructure. This programme is suitable for engineering and science graduates keen to pursue careers within the offshore sector; or graduates currently working in the offshore and ocean-related industries keen to extend their qualifications; or individuals with other qualifications who possess considerable relevant experience.

    Full-time: October. Part-time: throughout the year.

    Entry Requirements:

    A first or second class UK Honours degree (or equivalent) ideally in a related subject. Other recognised professional qualifications or several years relevant industrial experience may be accepted as equivalent; subject to approval by the Course Director.     Full-time MSc - one year, Part-time MSc - up to three years, Full-time PgCert - one year, Part-time PgCert - two years, Full-time PgDip - one year, Part-time PgDip - two years

    Who is it for?:

    The course comprises eight one-week assessed modules, a group project, and an individual thesis project. Students undertaking the Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) complete the eight modules and the group project. Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert) students are required to complete six of the eight modules.

    This course ensures that graduates are armed with the skills required to understand the materials, installation and maintenance issues associated with these important infrastructures.
