    Programme

The programmes are designed to attract a range of students from diverse backgrounds including mature learners who have been out of education for some time and those who have recently graduated with a first degree. The programme caters for the needs of students who wish to increase their employability in the sector by studying for a recognised qualification. The MSc in Environmental Quality Management has been developed and restructured to meet the needs of a changing and demanding environmental field. Two modules are completed for the PGCert and four for the PGDip. The final MSc year involves a dissertation.

This programme is only available on a part-time distance learning basis - it does not therefore meet the requirements of a visa to study in the UK.

This programme focuses on UK and European legislation and techniques suitable for a temperate climate.

    Teaching/assessment

The majority of the course material will be delivered by means of distance learning modules.

Students are encouraged to attend an induction session at the start of the programme these days allow students to meet key members of academic and administrative staff and familiarise themselves with studying by distance learning.

The programme operates on a rolling, modular basis and students join when a new module commences. Each module has a suggested study timetable to allow the students flexibility within a fixed framework.

The Certificate/Diploma includes continuous assessment through the completion of post tests and assignments at the end of each module.

    Career opportunities

Due to the flexibility and variety of this programme, practitioners are attracted from industry and regulatory authorities. Students typically hold roles such as Environmental Manager, Strategic Environmental Planning Officer, Environmental Protection Officer, Waste Management Consultant, Production Services Engineer, Minerals and Waste Planning Officer, Waste Management Officer, Local Government Officer and many more.
