ObjectivesThe 'QTS only' option offers you the chance to demonstrate that you meet the standards required to achieve QTS whilst continuing to work in the classroom and without undergoing any further teacher training.
We are currently recruiting for specialists in the following secondary subjects:
Design and Technology, Mathematics, Modern Languages, Science: Biology.
We may be able to offer further subjects: English, History, Business Education, Geography and Art and Design.
Entry requirements-degree from a UK Higher Education (HE) institution or equivalent qualification*
-GCSE grade C or above in English and mathematics (or equivalent
-Substantial experience of working in a UK school or as an instructor/unqualified teacher/teacher in an independent school or Further Education (FE) institution

The QTS standards are a rigorous set of statements, formally setting out what a teacher is expected to know, understand and be able to do in order to be awarded Qualified Teacher Status. They cover three main areas of Professional Values and Practice, Knowledge and Understanding, and Teaching.
You will be expected to produce a portfolio of evidence and pass the three QTS skills tests. To achieve the QTS standards you will also need to pass the QTS skills tests in numeracy, literacy and information and communications technology. These tests are computerised and take place at more than 40 test centres throughout England are administered by the Training and Development Agency (TDA).
I am qualified to teach post-16 in FE but the increased Flexibility Programme now means I am required to teach 14-16 year olds. Is this is a suitable way for me to gain QTS at Key Stage 4?
The course will provide you with opportunities to extend your experience at Key Stage 4 and gain QTS for Key Stage 4 and one other Key Stage.
