    Programme

The Degree covers the professional field of design crafts from one-off creations for the gallery to commercial production. It provides an opportunity for creative expression in an exciting range of materials and individual choice of approach, from jewellery and interior accessories to glass and ceramics products.

In Year One, students are introduced to the full range of materials and processes in the area. Year Two extends skills in these techniques and processes whilst developing an individual approach through self-directed study. Final year students negotiate and develop their individual creative practice.

The study of contextual, critical and historical issues and the application of digital technology forms an important part of the programme. Students also participate in live projects in relevant design and crafts contexts.
