BA Journalism
Programme
Students follow a programme which is firmly grounded in a wide range of journalism practice as well as engaging with contemporary theoretical issues. Throughout the programme there is an emphasis on practical work, which, in the later stages, includes placements and group projects.
Topics covered include: understanding what news is, where it comes from and how to find it, building contacts, writing for various and differentiated markets, writing for newspapers and magazines, sub-editing and design, on-line journalism, media law and public affairs and ethics of journalism.
Journalism can be studied with Arts Management, Creative Writing, English, Film, History, International Relations, Media and Politics.
