Objectives
This is an exciting new degree programme for those wishing to train as primary teachers. The programme is based on the principle of reflective practice and an enquiry based approach to teaching and learning. At York St John University, we've been training teachers since 1841 - we've been at it a long time and we're good at it!

Entry requirements 220 UCAS points You must also have: * Three GCSEs at grade C or above, including English Language and Maths (or equivalent). A pass at GCSE grade C or above in a science subject will now also be required. * Satisfactory medical report * Satisfactory CRB check

Programme
During Levels 1 and 2 modules will cover planning, assessment, inclusion and learning theory as well as teaching of Core and Foundation subjects in the National Curriculum. During Level 3 there will be further modules related to core subjects but there will be an emphasis on your chosen Advanced Professional Focus. There will be placements in schools during each year of the three years, which involve students progressively in taking more responsibility for teaching children.
