BSc Environmental Health
Programme
-Level 1 studies provide an introduction to human health and the environment. You investigate health from a community and personal perspective, examine the relationship between work and health, and assess the development and scope of public health. You will also be introduced to key themes surrounding the natural environment, as well as to essential study skills.
-At Level 2, you look at food microbiology, and health and maintenance at work. You explore effective communication practices for health issues, and consider environmental pollution. You will gain important practical environmental health skills, investigate food biochemistry and housing law, as well as having the opportunity to pick up crucial experience through an optional work placement.
-At Level 3, you study advanced aspects of food microbiology. Health promotion is considered, as is food safety, and you are introduced to epidemiological methods. You explore environmental protection technology, and undertake a dissertation and research project of your choice.
