• Objectives
  The General Social Care Council (GSCC) has accredited the University as an approved institution to offer this degree. It offers you professional training to qualify as a social worker and the chance to study for an Honours degree. Qualified social workers with a DipSW or CQSW can additionally undertake a top-up degree with a range of options for specialist study.
• Entry requirements
  You must be 18 years of age at the start of the course and have at least 200 UCAS points from two or more A-levels), or have completed an appropriate Access certificate. In addition, you must hold GCSE Maths and English (grade C or Key Skills level 2). Previous experience of social work would be viewed positively. We welcome applications from mature candidates without formal qualifications, who have relevant experience and can show an ability to study at this level. You must be able to communicate clearly and accurately in spoken and written English (normally equivalent to GCSE Grade C or Key Skills level 2). You must also possess the appropriate personal and intellectual qualities to be a social worker. All offers of places are subject to satisfactory health and Police checks and suitable references.
