  • Entry requirements
    You will need a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade C (or above) or GNVQ Intermediate at Level 2 or BTEC First Diploma. You should also have Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy skills and experience of using ICT.
  • Course description
    Duration of course:
    Two years, full time.
     
    Where does it lead?
    The course is an advanced course equivalent to 3 ‘A’ levels. The student can go straight into work as a junior IT user, or progress to university as entry into a BTEC HND or Degree course.
     
    What does it include?
    The course covers a variety of common and technical areas within the field of Information and Computing Technology.
     
    There are a total of 18 different units that will be taught.
     
    Some of the subjects areas include:
    · Computer Systems
    · Software Applications
    · Introduction to Software Development
    · Website Management
    · Communication Technology
    · Business Information Systems
     
    There will also be units where you will study business calculations and communication skills. The course is assessed on a combination of coursework, in class tests and external assessments.
