  General information
  
  This National Diploma in Sport follows the Sport and Exercise Sciences pathway and incorporates a practical coaching programme. Potential students must demonstrate self motivation, enthusiasm and a genuine commitment to improve their academic and practical skills.
  
  Course content
  
  Students will study 18 Units over a 2-year period. These include:
  
      * Sports Coaching
      * Practical Team Sports
      * Instructing Physical Activity and Exercise
      * Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology
      * Applied Sport and Exercise Physiology
      * Sports Biomechanics in Action
  
   
  Teaching and assessment
  
  Students will be assessed using a variety of assessment methods including completion of assignments, practical laboratory assessments and observation of practical skills.  Students will experience a variety of teaching and learning strategies
  
  Progression
  
  This course is equivalent to 3 A levels (3 x A2s) which means you can progress to Higher Education in the areas of Sports Science and Coaching or move straight into employment in a variety of professions.
