    Duration of course:
    2 Years, full -time, 3 days per week including 2 days directed private study.

    What does it include:
    You will work in excellent purpose built digital media and T.V. production facilities awarded Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) status by the Learning & Skills Council, to acquire industrial knowledge, production methods and skills using live project briefs relevant to TV & Video production.  Your learning will include;

    ·        Pre Production Knowledge & Methods
    ·        Studio, Location & Drama Production
    ·        Audio & Visual Editing Techniques & Technology


    Your learning will be delivered by a team of experienced and dedicated lecturers and technicians with a background in the media industry.

    Projects will give you practical experience in studio production, such as live TV chat shows and news programmes, drama production and location, so that you can learn about the production roles and methods.

    Visits to TV studios to see live broadcast and drama production will inform your learning, as well as visiting lecturers who will deliver specialist knowledge to help enhance your knowledge and learning. The college is unique in that it has its own theatre that will be used as a studio resource for production activities.

    We believe that it is important to support you so that you can pursue a future in media, so the course will include helping you to improve and develop your communication skills with additional Key Skills qualification study. Like all students you will receive group and individual tutorial support to keep you on track and if needed additional learning support is available.

    What do I need to get on to it?

    Ideally, applicants should possess relevant level 2 qualifications; 4 GCSEs at grade C, or an equivalent vocational qualification with a Merit grade. Entry onto the course is by interview.

    You will need to bring with you some examples of your work to the interview that you would like to talk about, a reference from school or college and your National Record of Achievement. At interview you should demonstrate potential to benefit from this course.

    Where does it lead?
    On successful completion of the course students usually progress into HE study on BTEC HND/HNC, Foundation Degree and BA (Hons) Courses, or pursue employment opportunities.
