Garden History, MA
The programme deals with the 4,000 year history of garden design in West Asia, Europe and the Americas. It does not deal with the East Asian garden design tradition at the present time.
The programme can be taken by graduates in any discipline who have the interest and ability to study and interrelate texts and images with built designs.
Students who do not meet the requirements for MA entry may access the programme via the PGCert Garden History programme, which comprises the first two courses from the MA Garden History taught in flexible learning mode. After taking these courses, students can elect either to receive the Postgraduate Certificate or to proceed to MA Garden History (the same credits cannot be used to obtain two qualifications).
