  • Objectives
    The Reading Law degree will give you a solid grounding in legal technique and prepare you for further study or employment. The School offers a friendly environment in which you will be able to get to know other students and your lecturers, and to get involved. Small group tutorials and seminars give you the chance actively to participate in the learning experience
  • Entry requirements
    There are different entry qualifications for each programme. Some programmes require you to have a certain amount of knowledge in a subject before you begin the degree programme – this is called a ‘subject requirement’. Other programmes do not have any specific subject requirements. All programmes will, however, expect you to have reached a certain standard in your education and will ask you to achieve certain grades in your examinations. Most programmes have a standard offer so that you know in advance what you are likely to need. Please note that even if you have the minimum entry qualifications, you are not necessarily guaranteed a place on the degree programme.

    Year 1

    -Law of Tort
    -Law of Contract
    -General Principles of Law
    -Criminal Law
    -Legal Skills
    -Either Writing Skills or Language Studies or module totalling 20 credits from a range of modules offered at Part 1 (as with M100, permission is required)

    Year 2

    -Constitutional & Administrative Law
    -Equity & Trusts
    -Land Law
    -Writing Credit L2
    -Law Option/
    -Language Option

    Year 3

    -You will spend this year at an approved university within the European Union appropriate to your language skills. You must study and pass modules equivalent to 120 credits offered by the host university

    Final Year

    -Writing Credit L3
    -Law Options
