An intensive and academically challenging programme, the MBM is designed to develop the business knowledge, practical experience and personal skills which employers are seeking. Individuals will be prepared for their first role in management and gain knowledge and understanding of all the major management specialisms.

The programme gives all participants a thorough introduction to essential management concepts, tools, functions and disciplines as well as an understanding of business policy and planning.

Furthermore, the programme enables recent graduates to maintain their study momentum and to obtain a similar management platform to that provided by the internationally recognised Strathclyde MBA before embarking on their professional career.

In fact, once graduates have the Strathclyde MBM qualification, and have consequently gained a minimum of three years' relevant business experience, they can convert the MBM into the Strathclyde MBA by taking additional credits.

The MBM is specifically designed for high calibre recent graduates. It provides you with a solid foundation in Business and Management through the application of intellectual skills in functional management, within an overall strategic framework.

    Programme Structure and Content

The MBM programme is designed to provide you with an exciting and challenging learning experience. It gives a broad understanding of management issues along with appropriate skills and techniques. At the elective stage it offers a degree of specialism, where required.

Recognising that the job of a manager involves making decisions across the spectrum of functional areas, the MBM offers you an holistic and integrated approach to management. As a result, it will enable you to expand your career options by combining the specialist knowledge of your undergraduate degree with a broad and general business and management postgraduate education.

The MBM is structured in three stages made up of five main subject modules. The first semester focuses on the major areas of business management, and is followed by a broader choice of modules in the second semester, thus allowing you to specialise in areas relevant to your future career.
