  MChin: 24 months full-time, including six months' study in China
  
  This programme focuses on contemporary China. It will provide you with a strong foundation in Chinese language (Mandarin) and in all aspects of Chinese politics, economy and business, society and culture. As part of the programme you will spend six months at a Chinese university studying Chinese language (all tuition fees in China are inclusive of the fee paid in the UK).

  You will study intensive Chinese language and non-language courses, and spend six months' studying in China at the end of the first year and beginning of the second.
  
  First year core courses
  
      * Chinese language
      * Chinese society and culture
      * Contemporary Chinese politics
      * China in the international economy
      * International business and trade (subject to confirmation).
  
  Second year electives
  
      * Political economy of Greater China
      * Gender, revolution and modernity in Chinese cinema
      * Media culture in modern China
      * Contemporary Chinese literature
      * Patterns of collecting and changing taste in Chinese art or Chinese art under the Song dynasty
      * Outward investment from emerging markets
      * Business and management in China and India (case studies)
  
  Second year compulsory course
  
      * Advanced Chinese language.
