    This programme is intended for those with careers in teaching and/or research in economic development or the specialist areas covered by the programme; government officials concerned with economic development; and development workers in international agencies and similar organisations.

    You take three core courses:

        * Development policy
        * Growth and development
        * IMF, World Bank and economic growth.

    Plus three options and a dissertation. The list of options includes:

        * Financial institutions and markets in developing countries
        * Project planning appraisal and implementation
        * Economic appraisal of development projects
        * Quantitative methods for planning - forecasting
        * Quantitative methods for planning - optimal decision making
        * Basic econometrics
        * Advanced econometrics
        * Welfare economics and public policy (double course)
        * Environmental economics
        * Political economy of the environment & sustainable development (double course)
        * International trade
        * Globalisation, trade & economic development
        * Civil society & the state in Central Eastern Europe (double course)
        * Economic growth in the 20th century
        * Economic history of East Asia and Japan since 1945
        * China in the international economy
        * Politics of gender in development.
