    COURSEWORK AND ASSESSMENT
The MA aims to provide participants with professional, vocationally relevant skills. The programme develops an understanding of the processes involved in managing music businesses and organisations, including aspects of business planning, marketing and communication technologies. It provides an understanding of the relevance of current policy and policy-making bodies on a regional, national and international basis.

A Work-based Project is undertaken within a music organisation of the participant's choice, which the participant is expected to initiate, negotiate and manage. The Dissertation provides an opportunity to conduct independent research within the field of music management.

Throughout the programme, participants are encouraged to refer to and reflect on their own working situations and experiences.

    CAREERS
Careers range across the spectrum of the music industry, from commercial record labels to music development agencies. Graduates may take up management positions within a music organisation, or work as Marketing, Education, Programme or Development Officers. Positions may be within performance venues, record labels, management companies or orchestras. Many graduates continue as practising artists, setting up their own music business or working in freelance or consultancy capacities.
