For the Postgraduate Diploma you need to complete 120 credits, 80 of which should be at Level M (postgraduate). For the Postgraduate Certificate you need to complete 60 credits, 40 at Level M.
These may be selected from a wide range of modules, and could focus around specific descriptors, such as General Education, Special Educational Needs, and Early Years.
Neither of these programmes lead to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
The credit gained can be transferred into an MA programme if required.
Modules available on the programme:
-Leadership and Management
-Learning and Teaching
-Inclusive Education and Special Educational Needs
-Portfolio Routes(including routes for Mentors, NQTs, Headteachers, CPD Leaders, PSHE Leaders and SLBA).
Assessment requirements vary for each module but normally include a written assignment on a topic negotiated with the module leader. Other approaches include oral presentations, reflective journals, portfolio of tasks and poster presentations.
