    Public Relations is about reputation; the result of what you do, what you say and what others say about you. This course is will give you the tools to make strong and effective PR strategies.

    If you think Public Relations is all about the fluffy stuff that you really haven’t got time for with everything else you are doing to run your business, think again!

    The Chartered Institute of Public Relations state: “Public Relations is about reputation; the result of what you do, what you say and what others say about you”.

    Public Relations underpin the whole of your business. From the impression you want to give your customers to the way you communicate with your employees. If you go to networking meetings and you are talking to others about your business, you are doing your own PR!

    This 10-week practical course will give you the tools and knowledge you need to create a strong and effective Public Relations strategy, to ensure your business raises its profile, maintains its reputation and meets its aims and objectives.

    During the course you will explore and examine:

    • What is PR?
    • How it works and why it sometimes fails
    • Creating your message
    • Identifying your key stakeholders and how to communicate with them
    • How PR supports your marketing and social media activity
    • How to develop a campaign
    • Using the different channels available
    • What is newsworthy?
    • Press Releases and how to build your own media list
    • Crisis PR

    Upon completion of this course, each student will have a PR Strategy outline, Press Release Templates and a basic media database for their business.

    What you need to bring

    A notebook and pen or tablet device for note taking purposes and an open mind.
