    -to provide an academic and practical course of study to meet the needs of existing and aspiring safety practitioners who already possess the Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health or other suitable qualification and require a higher qualification to Diploma level

    -to enable students to follow a course of study for a qualification which meets the academic requirement needed to gain Graduate Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health

    -to provide an integrated programme of study gaining professional recognition for environmental studies.

    These are modular in design via a combination of coursework and/or open book assessments.

    In addition to having well-equipped facilities for lectures and seminar classes, the department has computers with specialist software, which are linked to the University network.
